If you know me at all, you know I am a planner, but things seldom go as planned! My intention was to write this yesterday on the first day of 2015. Instead, I spent most of the day trying to revamp the look of the blog. That didn’t go too well, so I never got around to writing this. And so, here I am on January 2, 2015 writing about the New Year. I guess that isn’t too late. At least it isn’t March! Lots of time in the car…read more
Communion Sunday was today. For all of my ‘always been Baptist’ friends, that is also the Lord’s Supper Sunday. Communion Sundays are my favorite Sundays! When we went to the Methodist Church, we had Communion every first Sunday. I liked that. I also liked how personal it was. Usually the person who was serving knew my name. When they handed me the element, they would say my name. “Pam, His Body broken for you!” and “Pam, His Blood shed for you!” No, they didn’t shout- the exclamation mark was my…read more
You must check out the book “Sparkly Green Earrings” by Melanie Shankle! It is not secret that I enjoy reading. I enjoy reading almost as much as I enjoy photography (okay, maybe I enjoy it more because there is less paperwork involved!). A week or so ago “Sparkly Green Earrings” was free for the day. I have hundreds (maybe thousands) of free books on my Kindle app on my iPhone. Since it was free and also “Christian.” I ‘bought’ it. I’ll be honest, a lot of the free books are…read more
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV The day I chose this verse, everything in my life seemed rather insufficient. Evident?
Why pay money for something that will not nourish you? Why spend your hard-earned money on something that will not satisfy? Listen carefully to me and eat what is nourishing! Enjoy fine food! Isaiah 55:2 NET Hmm, this verse is interesting. When I first read it, I read it one way. After I pasted it, I read it another. So, I will go with the second one first. Since our nest is empty, eating out is easy. We still do the ‘where do you want to go?’ and “it is…read more
Dean and I were blessed to be a host home for two little girls and a sponsor for the weekend. We had a lot of fun with them. We picked them up on Friday evening at church. Our first stop was Chick-fil-a. Next, we headed over to Target. We bought a couple of coloring books, but they preferred the bubble wrap they saw in the garage on their way in the house! The next morning, they helped with breakfast. We made french toast, bacon and scrambled eggs. They were not…read more
Quiet day. I’m still not feeling 100%. We did traditional New Year’s Day dinner with black eyed peas and cabbage. I even fried cube steak. Hopefully, tomorrow is a different day. I want to feel good. I want to eat healthier. I started today participating in Beth Moore’s Siesta Scripture Memory Team. On the 1st & the 15th of the month, I will be adding a new scripture to my memory spiral. I will also be adding it on here. Seek the Lord and the strength he gives! Seek His…read more
